Columbus Residents To Discuss Stormwater Master Plan Tonight

COLUMBUS- A community study group has been formed with Columbus residents from each of the city’s wards to study the need and make recommendations for a stormwater master plan that will help Columbus come into compliance with EPA regulations.

The study group’s first meeting will be held at 6:00pm tonight in the second floor conference room of City Hall. According to City Engineer, Rick Bogus, some of the city’s existing stormwater systems in various parts of town do not adequately handle significant rainfall, which leads to flooding.

Bogus said they are determining the best approach to handle current stormwater challenges, as well as position the community to grow with more effective stormwater management practices in the future.
