Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are among the acts set to headline the third annual KAABOO Del Mar festival, taking place September 15-17 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds north of San Diego. While the exact date of the group’s performance hasn’t been announced, it will come nearly a month after the final date on the North American leg of Petty and company’s 40th anniversary tour.
Other headliners include fellow rock bands The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, Weezer and Muse; pop star Pink; DJ David Guetta; and rapper Ice Cube. The lineup also features veteran artists including Jackson Browne, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Michael McDonald, Dave Mason, and The Tubes.
Performances will take place on four outdoor and two indoor stages, one of which will be devoted exclusively to comedy. To check out the full lineup and more details about the fest, go to KaabooDelMar.com.
Petty & the Heartbreakers’ 40th anniversary tour gets underway April 20 in Oklahoma City and is plotted out through an August 19 show in Seattle.
