Tierra Williams Comes Up Short of Triple Jump Finals

Nebraska’s Tierra Williams is not headed for the Olympics. She finished 15th in the triple jump at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials in Eugene, Oregon on Monday.

Williams posted her best mark – 43-9 ¼ on her last jump.  The top 12 advanced to the triple jump final, where the top three will make the U.S. Olympic team that heads to Rio de Janeiro next month.

Fellow Husker Sarah Firestone competes in the javelin throw qualifying round on Thursday.
