Coroner’s Report Says Phillips Used Bedsheet to Kill Himself

The Omaha World-Herald reports that Lawrence Phillips strangled himself with a bedsheet in his California prison cell.  The final report of the coroner who investigated the former Husker football star’s death says a “Do Not Resuscitate” note was taped to Phillips’ chest.

The Kern County coroner’s 18-page report comes five months after Phillips’ death on January 13th.

The attorney for Phillips family and friends who have questioned whether he killed himself said he would have no immediate comment until he and the family have reviewed the coroner’s report.
