Scotus Scores Late to Claim Third Straight Soccer Title

It went down to the wire, but the Scotus boys’ soccer team scored with less than a half-minute left to defeat Elkhorn South 1-0 in the Class B championship match.  The dramatic win heard on KLIR 101 Tuesday evening earned the Shamrocks their third consecutive state crown.

Nathan Ostdiek squeezed a goal in between the Storm goal keeper and the right post at 79:32 of the title tilt to break the scoreless tie.

Scotus finished the season with a 17-3 record, while previously unbeaten Elkhorn South ended up 18-1.
