Scotus Battles Gothenburg Thursday at State Tourney

Following a third-place finish in 2014 and taking the runner-up spot last season at the boys’ class C1 state basketball tournament, Scotus begins this year’s quest for its first state title on Thursday.

The number-2 seed Shamrocks take a 23-3 record up against 7th-seeded and 20-7 Gothenburg in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

During last Saturday’s Pinnacle Bank Coaches Show on KLIR, Scotus coach Jeff Ohnoutka said one key for his team will be limiting the touches of Swedes guard Dawson Graham.  The Gothenburg junior is averaging better than 20 points a game.

Thursday’s Scotus-Gothenburg matchup at the Devaney Sports Center tips off at 3:45 pm and will be aired on KLIR 101.
