Huskers’ Rally Falls Short at Penn State

Nebraska erased an 18-point second half deficit, but Penn State’s Shep Garner made a free throw with 7.2 seconds left and the Huskers fell 56-55 Thursday night.

NU’s Shavon Shields, who missed the last four games with a concussion, was outstanding in his return with a game-high 25 points.

Nebraska slips to 14-15 overall and 6-10 in the Big Ten.

The Huskers are home for Senior Night next Tuesday, when they host nationally ranked Purdue.
