It was a battle of the top two seeds in Thursday night’s boys basketball C2-6 subdistrict final at York High. In a game heard on KZ-100, Twin River guard Matt Euse scored 28 points, leading the top-seeded Titans to a 56-27 romp over number-2 seed Cross County.
The Cougars fall to 20-5. Twin River moves to 20-6 and moves on to Monday’s C2-3 district final against Battle Creek. That game will be broadcast on KZ-100, with the location and tipoff time TBA.
In otherC1 subdistrcit finals Thursday night, Madison lost to Pierce 60-29. The Dragons season ends at 10-14. Boone Central/Newman Grove was edged 43-40 by Grand Island Central Catholic. The Cardinals are 15-8.
High Plains defeated Howells-Dodge 49-42. The Jaguars’ season ends at 9-16. The Storm improves to 21-2 and will meet Archbishop Bergan in Tuesday’s D1-2 district final. That game will be heard on KZ-100.
And Humphrey St. Francis was downed by Mead 50-39 in the D2-3 subdistrict final. The Flyers’ second loss in their last three games dropped them to 23-2.
