All-Star outfielder Alex Gordon is staying with the Kansas City Royals. The former Nebraska standout signed a $72-million, four-year deal Wednesday.
A groin injury limited Gordon to 104 games last season. He hit .271 with 13 homers and 48 RBI in the regular season.
He also blasted a game-tying home run that sent the World Series opener into extra innings – a game eventually won in 14 innings by KC and the Royals went on to beat the Mets in five games.
