Nebraska pushed number-21 Miami to overtime before falling 77-72 last night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Husker coach Tim Miles was impressed by the play of Shavon Shields, who led NU with a season-high 28 points. Miles noted the Huskers didn’t hit a field goal in overtime despite some open looks. Miami shot a season-low 41 percent but made 23 of 28 free throws and outscored NU by 14 at the line.
The Hurricanes improve to 6-1. The Huskers, at 5-3, will next host Abilene Christian on Saturday.
