Elementary Student Injured At State Fair

Grand Island, NE ~~ A 3rd grader was injured at the Nebraska State Fair.  The 8-year-old girl from Engleman Elementary School in Grand Island was injured Monday when she was struck by a Utility Terrain Vehicle driven by a Nebraska State Fair employee.

Injuries have not been confirmed, but it’s believed injuries were sustained to the lower extremities of the accident victim.

The girl was at the fair as part of Nebraska’s Largest Classroom—a free program designed for school agers from across Nebraska so that they can learn more about Nebraska agriculture.

The matter is currently under investigation.
