Pilger Residents Allowed Into Town

Pilger, NE~~Residents of Pilger are assessing damage to their homes and businesses today.  73-year-old Larry Nelson has been surveying the wreckage that used to be his home on the southwest edge of Pilger.  Nelson says he's grateful to have survived Monday's storm, which spawned twin tornadoes that authorities say damaged or destroyed more than half of the town and killed two people.

Wisner-Pilger schools superintendent Chad Boyer surveyed the damage done to the middle school.  Officials said late Monday that the school is likely beyond repair.  Boyer says he's just grateful the tornadoes didn't hit while classes were in session.
