Transfer Station Accepting Tree Debris

Columbus, NE~~The city of Columbus Transfer Station will be accepting tree debris from Tuesday night storms that ripped through Columbus. 
The Transfer Station will accept tree debris taken to the "tree dump" by property owners at no charge through Saturday afternoon, June 14, until 5:00 p.m.
Contracted tree and yard waste services will be exempt from the 'no charge provision' and will be required to pay normal drop-off fees. All persons dropping off tree debris will be required to weigh at the scale. The Transfer Station is located at 570 South 14th Avenue and the tree dump site will be open until 5:00 p.m. for the remainder of this week. Patience and caution will be necessary at the dump site during drop-off.
City staff will be removing trees in parks and public property and blocking streets and will not pick up tree debris from private property.
