Female Mountain Killed In Western Nebraska

Lincoln, NE~~As the debate in the Nebraska Legislature continues on whether or not to ban mountain lion hunting in the state, the killing of a female mountain lion has automatically ended this year's second hunting season in the Pine Ridge Unit.  The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says a 102-pound female was killed Wednesday in Sheridan County.  The lion was believed to be about 5 ½ years old.  Season 2 in the Pine Ridge Unit was scheduled to run from February 15th through March 31st.   Requirements were set to end the season once one female or two mountain lions total were killed.
