Schuyler Man Dies in Monday Morning Crash



Slippery conditions early Monday morning may have played a role in a fatal accident east of Columbus.  The Platte County Sheriff’s Department says 26-year-old Francisco Espinoza of Schuyler was killed when he apparently lost control of his car due to snow and slush on the roadway, crossed the median, and was struck by a semi truck driven by 64-year-old Leo Richtermeier of Ponca.  Richtermeier received minor cuts in the accident which occurred just after 5:00am west of East 59th Avenue on Highway 30.  The accident remains under investigation.
