Man accused in Schuyler shooting, chase to have competency hearing



SCHUYLER, Neb. - A competency hearing is scheduled for a man accused of leading officers on a high-speed chase through two counties following a shooting near a Schuyler bar.
 
27-year-old Travis Reitan was arrested December 28th in Dodge County. His lawyer claims he was insane at the time of the incident.
 
Reitan is accused of firing three shots near Tiny’s Bar on B Street then leading police on an early morning chase that ended in Dodge County after police disabled his vehicle with spike strips and Tasered him after he would free leave the vehicle.
 
Several types of weapons and ammunition were found in the vehicle following the incident.
