Neb. bill would let references say nice things

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Employers would be able to loosen their tongues a bit when they get calls about former workers, under a bill set for debate next week in the Legislature.

Businesses often encourage management to give out little information when asked about former employee because of the possibility of a lawsuit.

Legislative Bill 959 would allow an employer to provide – in good faith and at the employee's request -- information about job performance.

The employer would not be civilly liable for the disclosure or the consequences of disclosure.

An employer who acts with actual malice or with deliberate intent to mislead would not receive immunity from civil liability.

I've never heard that myself. in scoohl PE we did push up every day. Of course scoohl was only 5 days a week tho. People in the army are also trained to go long periods without eating and sleeping. Its not necessarily good for you but is essential in winning a war.
