Arlington man sent to prison for high-speed chase



2-1-12, FREMONT, Neb. (AP) - An Arlington man who led a state trooper on a dangerous high-speed chase through Dodge and Saunders counties has been sentenced to up to five years in prison.
 
28-year-old Steven Thomas was sentenced on Monday for flight to avoid arrest and driving under the influence. His driver's license was revoked for 2 years.
    
Thomas was arrested in October. The chase started in Dodge County. Thomas drove through the playground of a school and took out a fence in Fremont before heading into Saunders County. The chase topped 100 mph before Thomas had car problems and stopped on a county road.
