FREMONT, Neb. (AP) - Firefighters have extinguished a fire in a Union Pacific refrigerated train car loaded with butter near Fremont.Firefighters arrived at the scene Saturday afternoon to find smoking coming from a refrigerated car.
Fremont Fire Chief Carl Nielsen says melted butter was pouring from a corner of the boxcar, calling it "a first for us."
Firefighters unloaded pallets of butter in order to get to the fire.
Nielsen says it's not clear what started the fire. No one was hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
