MADISON, Neb. (AP) — A man has been given 10-to-15 years in prison for attempting to kidnap a 14-year-old boy in Madison County.Court records say 47-year-old Jose Llerenas-Alvarado pleaded no contest to the charge after prosecutors lowered it. He was sentenced last week.
Authorities say Llerenas-Alvarado traveled with the teen from Newman Grove into Boone County on a gravel road last June. The boy broke one of his arms while escaping.
Llerenas-Alvarado is serving a yearlong sentence for his conviction in Boone County for third-degree sexual assault, stemming from the same set of circumstances in the Madison County case.
He must register as a sex offender for 25 years.
