Former Newman Grove police chief arrested



1-13-12, NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) - A former police chief of Newman Grove in northeast Nebraska has been arrested for allegedly shooting out the back window of a car in Tilden last weekend.
 
Todd Jennings was arrested on suspicion of shooting at an occupied vehicle, terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
    
Madison County attorney Joe Smith says no formal charges have been filed. He says he's waiting on final police reports before filing charges.
    
Jennings allegedly shot out the back window of vehicle occupied by four people. Smith says some type of verbal confrontation preceded the incident.
    
No one was injured.
