1-11-12, COLUMBUS, Neb. - The Platte County Sheriff’s Office was one of several agencies across the State that participated in the recent “You Drink & Drive. You Lose.” crackdown. The enforcement effort took place from December 2nd to January 1st focusing on alcohol impaired drivers and related violations.
Deputies worked an additional 63 hours during the time period, which aided in the arrest of drunk drivers and other alcohol/drug related violations.
A total of 72 citations were issued for various violations and 125 warning/violation cards. Eight Drunk Driving arrests were made and 2 additional arrests from active warrants.
The funding for the enforcement activity was provided through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
