DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - The Federal Highway Administration has begun reimbursing Nebraska for repairs made to highways damaged by last summer's Missouri River flooding.The funds from the Federal Highway Administration's Emergency Relief Program were announced Monday. Nebraska will receive about $4.6 million.
In Nebraska, transportation spokeswoman Mary Jo Oie says the funds appear to be a partial payment for repairs made to state and federal roads, including U.S. Highway 75 along the Missouri River and U.S. 30 along the Platte River.
The funds are part of nearly $1.6 billion awarded nationally to repair roads damaged by natural disasters last year.
