Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher's Youngest Dog, Penny, Rules the Roost at Their

Image Courtesy CMAThere's no mystery as to who rules the roost at Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher's house. It's their youngest dog, Penny.Carrie posted an Instagram video of Penny begging for a taste of Mike's breakfast Wednesday morning with the caption, "She does this every morning."In an effort to keep the peace, Mike finally let Penny sit on his lap and eat a little bit of that biscuit topped with blueberry jam on his plate.Penny may be tapping into the same rebellious spirit Carrie shows off in her new duet with Miranda Lambert, "Something Bad." That song is now climbing the country chart.Follow @ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Kristian Bush Enjoying the Simple Life with His Debut Solo Single, "Trailer Hitc

Image Courtesy Streamsound RecordsAfter a decade with his multi-platinum selling duo, Sugarland, Kristian Bush is stepping out with his debut solo single, "Trailer Hitch." The lyrics speak to the joys of living simply and not getting bogged down with possessions, a philosophy that's more than just some lofty idea for Kristian. As he flies across the country from show to show, traveling light has become a necessity.Kristian tells ABC News Radio, "I don't know how recently you've been on an airplane, but they can get pretty aggressive about this, 'Two bags!  You get two bags! Put your largest bag in the overhead,' or whatever it is. You seem to be rewarded if, for some reason, you have less."Avoiding attachment to inanimate objects isn't hard for Kristian, since he's prone to leave things behind on planes all the time.  "I have left my hat underneath the chair in front of me on an airplane three times in the last month," Kristian says with a laugh. "I have to buy more hats. But I do believe that it feels good when things are just a little simpler. Things are just complicated!""Trailer Hitch" is the lead single from Kristian's upcoming solo project, Southern Gravity. In the last two years, Kristian has written more than 300 songs, including the ones that will end up on his album. In an effort not to forget the songs, Kristian began recording himself singing the songs as he wrote them.  He says, "I noticed after about six or seven months that I was singing four or five hours a day, five days a week, right? And I didn't realize I was doing it!"All of that vocal exercise paid off when Kristian hit the road on his current Put Your Soul In It tour and found his voice is now stronger than ever. In fact, he's hitting notes he's never been able to hit before."There are songs that I can sing where I'm getting closer to the Aretha Franklin voice that's in my brain when I write some of these songs," Kristian says. "There's just a lot more control involved."He adds, "It's exciting! It's exciting to feel that change.""Trailer Hitch" is now available at iTunes. Florida Georgia Line's Concert Crowds Include Fans of All Ages

Image Courtesy Republic NashvilleFlorida Georgia Line is credited with introducing a younger generation to country music in the past few years, but that doesn't mean their fans are all in high school and college. In fact, the duo's Tyler Hubbard tells ABC News Radio they see pretty much every age group represented at their concerts and the meet-and-greets they hold before the show stars."It's a pretty nice mix," says Tyler. "You got five-year-old kids. You got [a] 70-year-old coming through."FGL's Brian Kelley adds, "And then you got the parents coming, too. College kids."Tyler goes on to call their shows a "big family night," but he stresses, "At the same time, it's a party."Thanks to their collaborations with Nelly and Jason Derulo, Florida Georgia Line has picked up a lot of fans who otherwise wouldn't listen to country music. The duo takes that as a big compliment.Says Brian, "We love representing country music. We feel it's an honor. We take pride in it. We love the format -- it's amazing. It's changed our life. Country music is alive and well more than ever it feels like."Florida Georgia Line's string of hits continues with their latest single, "Dirt." Joe Nichols Explains How His "Yeah" Video Went from "Cheap and Cheesy" to Comic

Image Courtesy Red Bow RecordsJoe Nichols' new video, "Yeah," uses animation to place a young couple on the pages of a comic book as their love story plays out over the course of a night.  It's easily one of country's most compelling videos so far this year, but that comic book effect was actually an afterthought. Joe and his team originally wanted the video to look cheap and cheesy with the couple acting out the song around a fake campfire and fake trees set up in a studio. That idea didn't quite pan out, though.Joe tells ABC News Radio, "It came off looking incredibly cheap and cheesy. That was the only problem. It was supposed to be funny, and it kind of missed."He adds with a laugh, "It just looked like we ran out of money or something."Luckily, Joe's video director had the idea to take that cheesy-looking footage and add animation to create the comic book look."He showed me 30 seconds of it, and I was like, 'Yeah. Love that!' It changed everything, "Joe explains. "It was probably a mediocre video at best to I think it's a pretty dang good one right now.""Yeah" is included on Joe Nichols' latest album, Crickets, now in stores.Follow @ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio
