UNL Crop Production Clinics Scheduled for January



The sixth annual Crop Production Clinic will be held at nine locations across Nebraska in January 2014. The Clinics will provide valuable information to help crop producers and Agribusiness professionals improve their profitability and safety. The Crop Production Clinics succeeds what was formerly known as Crop Protection Clinics which had been conducted annually since 1974.

The Crop Production Clinics will feature presentations from Extension specialists and educators on soil fertility, soil water and irrigation management, crop production, Ag business management & policy, pesticide safety, and disease, insect and weed pest management. Program topics are tailored to meet the needs of cropping systems in different parts of the state, and vary by location.

Commercial Ag Pesticide applicator recertification is also available.  Representatives from the Nebraska Department of Agriculture will be present to verify attendance.

Certified Crop Advisors may earn CEUs in the following categories: Integrated Pest Management, Soil and Water, Nutrient Management, and Crop Production.  Certified Crop Advisors are required to bring their CCA number to apply for CEU credits.

The Registration fee for the day is $60. The fee includes a noon meal, refreshments, the 2014 Guide for Weed Management in Nebraska and the 2014 Crop Production Clinic Proceedings. Cost for registering on-site the day of the event is $75.

North Platte — Jan. 8, Sandhills Convention Center; Hastings — Jan. 9, Adams County Fairgrounds; Kearney — Jan. 14, Younes Conference Center; York — Jan. 15, City Auditorium; Beatrice — Jan. 16, Beatrice Country Club; Atkinson — Jan. 21, Atkinson Community Center, Norfolk — Jan. 22, Lifelong Learning Center at the Northeast Community College Campus, and ARDC (Mead) — Jan. 23, Saunders County Extension Office.
