York, NE~~The Nebraska State Patrol continues to investigate a shooting at Nebraska Correction Center for Women in York.
Authorities say 50-year-old Robin Staehr of York entered the front lobby of the facility around 5:15pm Sunday evening with a rifle behind her back. Staff recognized Staehr as a former employee, denied her access, called 911, and put the facility on lockdown. Staehr then fired a single gunshot to her chin before dropping the .22 caliber rifle, and walking out of the lobby of the facility toward a vehicle in the parking lot.
Emergency responders transported her to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
No staff or inmates were injured during the incident.
