Omaha Steel Casings moving to Wahoo

1-12-12, WAHOO, Neb. (AP) - Omaha Steel Castings Co. will be moving its business about 30 miles west to the Saunders County town of Wahoo.

With it will come upward of 150 new jobs.

The company has bought 20 acres of farmland just off U.S. Highway 77. It intends to build a $12 million plant over the next 18-24 months.

Company president Phil Teggart says the company outgrew its Omaha site and began looking for a new location about three years ago.

Teggart says he hopes to break ground July 1st.

The company has about 225 people, but Teggart expects many of them won't want to move or commute to Wahoo. He says he anticipates that could create 125-150 new jobs in Wahoo.
