Former Employee Threatens NPPD

Beatrice, NE~~A former Sheldon Station NPPD employee was arrested Saturday by Beatrice Police.  Authorities say 58-year-old David Ahlstrand apparently filled his pickup with rifles and ammunition and threatened to shoot the NPPD headquarters in Columbus.

Ahlstrand’s wife called police after the suspect told her of his plans.  Officers arrested Ahlstrand late Saturday afternoon and found several rifles and over 2,600 rounds of ammunition in the pickup.  Police believe Ahlstrand became upset after learning he was losing some of his benefits.

Alstrand is charged with making a terroristic threat, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
