Forklift stolen from Katana Summit ends up in ditch; man arrested



1-17-12, COLUMBUS, Neb. - Platte County authorities arrest a Kentucky man after he allegedly tried to drive off with a forklift from Katana Summit.
 
24-year-old Dexter Reeves is charged with burglary and criminal mischief. It happened just before 3am Monday.
 
Deputies found Reeves in the forklift after it had been driven through a fence and ended up in a ditch. He was taken to the Platte County Detention Facility.
 
The forklift is valued at $160,000. Damage to the facility is estimated at about $10,000.
 
The incident is still under investigation by the Platte County Sheriff’s Department.
