Columbus Man Faces Manslaughter Charge

Pierce, NE~~A Columbus man is facing manslaughter charges three years after the death of an 18-year-old Norfolk man.  23-year-old Daniel Hofmann is charged with manslaughter, tampering with evidence and other charges in the April 2011 death of Wesley Kuester.

The Pierce County Sheriff says Hoffman is suspected in the death of Kuester who was shot with a shotgun in Pierce.  Prosecutors say the two men were the only people in the apartment at the time of the shooting, and it would not have been possible for Kuester to shoot himself.

Arraignment for Hoffman is set for Wednesday.
