The one thing Chris Daughtry would change about his career? It's not winning “American Idol”

Dove ShoreSince he came in fourth on the fifth season of American Idol back in 2006, Chris Daughtry‘s done quite well for himself, with multi-platinum albums, sold-out tours, hit singles, acting gigs and more.

So when asked what he’d do differently in his career if he could, Chris’ answer isn’t “win American Idol.” But the thing he would change might surprise you.

Speaking to Florida Today, Chris says if he could do one thing over, he would “change the band name.”

“To have the band named after you just feels weird,” he explains. “I think it would be cool to be more anonymous with the band than have it tied to one person, me.”

Back in 2006, though, Chris explained that since he had “name recognition” from Idol, it was “easier just to go with my last name.”

Daughtry — the band, not just the guy — is currently on tour in support of their new album Cage to Rattle.  It wraps up in mid-December in Worcester, Massachusetts.
