Girls State Basketball: Scotus, St. Francis Win, H/LHF Falls

Scotus and Humphrey St. Francis both had impressive wins in Thursday’s quarterfinals of the girls state basketball tournament.

The Shamrocks posted a 49-32 C1 victory over Wahoo, while the Flyers dominated Riverside 68-41 in Class D2.  The win improved Scotus’ record to 20-5.  St. Francis is now 25-2.  The Chargers wound up 14-12.

In the D1 quarterfinal, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family’s fourth quarter rally came up just short in a 67-64 loss to North Central.  Taya Beller’s running 3-pointer after a steal boxed in-and-out at the buzzer as the Bulldogs’ season at 21-5.
