Nebraska’s Amy Williams was named the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year yesterday. She was selected in a vote of the conference’s coaches and media.
The second-year Husker head coach led one of the nation’s top turnarounds, guiding the Big Red to a 20-9 record this season compared to the NU’s 7-22 mark last year.
Meantime, Hannah Whitish and Kate Cain were honored with awards yesterday.
Whitish captured second-team All-Big Ten honors from both the coaches and media. Cain earned a spot on the conference’s All-Defensive and All-Freshman teams selected by the coaches.
