Columbus Mayor Jim Bulkley Give Updates On City Projects

COLUMBUS- Many have asked why the proposed new Columbus fire and police stations will be built in separate locations instead of being combined.  Mayor Jim Bulkley says they talked about that possibility, but they needed a larger parcel of land…

Bulkley said the new fire station would be built in the approximate location where the old Foreman Lumber Company used to be. Bulkley also says construction of the new police and fire stations will be paid for without new taxes from the existing half-cent sales tax already in place.  The new police station would be located downtown…

The State was also in Columbus last week to outline the resurfacing project for 23rd Street. Mayor Jim Bulkley says the project is not just resurfacing, but completely tearing up the roadbed and also replacing the infrastructure such as curbs, gutters, and sewers.  The Mayor said business along the route had some concerns…

The project is slated to begin in 2020 or 2021.
