After recently announcing two special shows on June 6 and June 29 where he’ll open, respectively, for Alison Krauss and roots-rock act The Avett Brothers, David Crosby has unveiled a full U.S. headlining tour that will kick off May 19 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Crosby will be backed by his “Sky Trails Band,” which includes musicians who are featured on his 2017 studio album, Sky Trails.
“If there is one thing I know, it’s that music is a healing force, something we really need more of right now,” says the folk-rock legend in a message on his official website. “So I’ve decided to hit the road again this May with my amazing band.”
Crosby’s backing band features his son and frequent collaborator James Raymond on keyboards, guitarist Jeff Pevar, bassist Mai Agan, drummer Steve “Stevie D” DiStanislao and keyboardist Michelle Willis. Raymond, Pevar and Willis also will be contributing their vocal talents to the shows.
The trek is mapped out through the June 29 gig with The Avett Brothers, which takes place at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.
Tickets for the newly announced concerts go on sale to the general public this Friday, March 2, at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sale opportunities also will be available; visit DavidCrosby.com for more information.
