Two Husker Football Players Hospitalized

Nebraska receiver Tyjon Lindsey and defensive lineman Dylan Owen were hospitalized after falling ill during winter conditioning.

Coach Scott Frost told the Lincoln Journal Star that both were treated for rhabdomyolysis.  It’s a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when muscle tissue breaks down and leaks into the blood stream.

Of the winter workouts, Frost said, “We just need to make sure we’re smarter going forward.”
