While the Nebraska football team and its fans are sitting at home this bowl season, two of the Huskers’ Big Ten rivals are in action today.
Iowa is on deck at Yankee Stadium, waiting for a 4:15 p.m. kickoff against Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl on ESPN. The Hawkeyes are the only team in the nation to lose a bowl game in each of the last four seasons.
Meantime, Purdue will represent the Big Ten tonight against Arizona in the Foster Farms Bowl at Santa Clara, California. The Boilermakers’ first bowl victory in six years would give them a winning record and cap an impressive turnaround under first-year coach Jeff Brohm. The contest kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on FOX.
