Bill Moos, who helped elevate sports programs at Oregon and Washington State, is Nebraska’s new athletic director.
Moos has been the AD at Washington State the past seven years and held the post at Oregon from 1995-2007. He’ll begin his tenure in Lincoln on October 23rd.
In announcing the hire Sunday, NU Chancellor Ronnie Green said, “Nebraska has secured a proven winner in Bill Moos to lead Husker Athletics into a new era of excellence.”
The 66-year old Moos agreed to a five-year contract with Nebraska with a base annual salary of $1 million, plus incentives.
“To lead one of the most storied and successful athletic programs in the nation is a true honor,” Moos said.
Moos replaces Shawn Eichorst, who was fired September 21st.
