Madonna has been a singer, songwriter, dancer, director, actress and author. Now she’s added another line to her resume: stand-up comic.
Madonna posted a photo of herself wearing a stylish red dress and sunglasses, walking into Barneys New York department store on Tuesday, with the caption, “One minute i was Walking into @barneysny like a BOSS for the OFFiCIAL opening of my skin care line @mdnaskin in The US!” She followed that up with a photo of herself onstage at New York’s Comedy Cellar with Amy Schumer.
That caption read, “And the next minute i was tagging along with @amyschumer at @nyccomedycellar making my stand up debut! What a thrill. Finally busted my c**rry…thank you Amy!”
Amy posted a photo of the two of them onstage, with the caption, “We’d like to thank @nyccomedycellar for taking a chance on our new act.”
According to Gothamist, in addition to Schumer, the Comedy Cellar also hosted Jon Stewart, Louis CK and Aziz Ansari Tuesday night. Unfortunately, there are strict rules against taking videos in comedy clubs, so we don’t know exactly what kind of jokes Madonna told. She said in a recent interview that she’s interested in doing more intimate tours that incorporate both music and comedy.
According to the New York Post, Schumer’s working on new material for her next comedy special. She’s been friendly with Madonna since the Queen of Pop tapped her as an opening act on her 2015 Rebel Heart tour.
