He's a “Heartache on the Dance Floor”: Why Jon Pardi might — or might not — bust a move

ABC/Image Group LA Jon Pardi is on the verge of locking in his third #1 in a row with the uptempo “Heartache on the Dance Floor.”  But just because the California native delivers dancehall-ready anthems like that song and “Dirt on My Boots,” you shouldn’t expect to see him showing off his own fancy footwork.

“I’m not much of a dancer,” Jon confesses. “But I like it. People like it. People like to dance. Just because you don’t want to dance, doesn’t nobody mean else wouldn’t want to dance.”

Still, when the spirit moves him, Jon admits he might bust a move.

“I just do what I want, shake some legs, spin around,” he says casually. “Sometimes when I’m playing I’ll do a spin. Then I’ll see my bass player do a spin, my guitar player do a spin. Like, it creates a chain reaction.”

You can check out Jon’s moves — or lack of them — on his Lucky Tonight Tour with Midland and Runaway June. It kicks off October 12 in Birmingham, Alabama.
