The Nebraska football team opens its second week of fall practice today.
The Huskers planned to wrap up their first week of fall camp with their first practice in Memorial Stadium on Saturday. But, due to lightning practice was moved inside and it finished with an 86-play scrimmage.
In evaluating the scrimmage, coach Mike Riley said it was a “mixed bag,” adding the number-one offense was “not consistent, but had some nice runs.” He said NU’s quarterbacks “functioned okay.”
He praised the defensive secondary for making some plays and said, “they’re young in the defense and they’re growing, so I’m optimistic about that.”
Nebraska kicks off its 2017 season with a home game against Arkansas State on Saturday, September 2nd.
