The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced that former Creighton center Justin Patton underwent surgery yesterday to repair a broken bone in his left foot. The team says Patton suffered the injury during a recent workout.
He will not play in the upcoming NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and will be sidelined indefinitely.
The Timberwolves acquired the draft rights to Patton, who was selected 16th overall in last month’s draft, in a trade with the Chicago Bulls.
Patton averaged 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in his one season with Creighton, earning Big East Freshman of the Year honors.
