If you’re a Rolling Stones fan who’s wanted to own something personal belonging to Keith Richards, you’ll get your chance when a collection of items from the rock legend’s Manhattan apartment goes up for bid next month.
The auction, which will take place June 24 at Stair Galleries in Hudson, New York, will feature antique furniture, paintings, decorations and more from the Upper East Side residence Richards shares with his wife, model Patti Hansen, who purchased many of the items herself at antique stores on the East Coast and in London.
Among the pieces going on the block is tufted leather Chesterfield sofa Richards favored. Other items include three large floral paintings by French artist Jacqueline Marval, Persian rugs, a tea set featuring skull designs, and a shoe-shaped chair featuring a leopard print.
A few pieces from Richards and Hansen’s Connecticut home also will be sold, including a wooden four-poster bed, Waterford crystal wine glasses, an Italian orange-glass decanter, and a pair of Flemish tapestry pillows.
Stair Galleries will offer a daily preview of the auction beginning June 10. The sale will take place at 11 a.m. ET June 24.
All proceeds raised by the auction will be donated to Prospector Theater in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and Sphere of CT, which both support adults with developmental disabilities. Richards and Hansen have an affinity for these organizations because Patti has an adult nephew with autism.
