A St. Edward Man Remains In Critical Condition After Motorcycle Accident

MONROE- A 38 year old St. Edward man remains in critical condition after a motorcycle accident.

On Tuesday at 2:00pm, deputies with the Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle accident east of Monroe on Highway 22. Peter Werner was traveling on his motorcycle eastbound on Highway 22 when a deer exited the ditch running out in front of him. The motorcycle struck the deer, which resulted in the motorcycle sliding on the roadway and into the ditch where the motorcycle rolled several times. Werner was thrown from the motorcycle.

Werner was flown by medical helicopter to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where he remains in critical condition.
