While safety Nathan Gerry was the lone Nebraska player taken in the NFL draft, several other Huskers have signed free agent deals with NFL clubs.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that Tommy Armstrong will get a chance to make the Minnesota Vikings as a wide receiver. Running back Terrell Newby and center Dylan Utter will also reportedly get a tryout with Minnesota.
Tight end Cethan Carter signed with the Bengals, linebacker Josh Banderas signed with the Broncos, receiver Alonzo Moore will get a shot with the Chiefs, and receiver Brandon Reilly gets a tryout with the Bills. Reports also have receiver Jordan Westerkamp getting a shot with the Buccaneers.
Gerry was picked in the fifth round by the Eagles last Saturday.
