Milt Tenopir, one of the architects of Nebraska’s dominant “Pipeline” offensive lines, has died after a long battle with leukemia. He was 76.
Tenopir, who retired in 2003, was considered a guru of line play during his 29 years with the Huskers. NU won 13 national rushing titles and three national championships during his tenure.
He coached six Outland Trophy winners and 27 of his players went on to sign professional contracts.
Tenopir was also one of the most beloved coaches in school history.
