Cargill Powers McDonald’s Breakfast Roll-Out

(DowJones) – Cargill has been a key player in McDonald’s (MCD) roll-out of all-day breakfast across the burger chain’s US stores over the past year, according to the agricultural conglomerate’s annual report. Cargill and McDonald’s staff conducted thousands of tests in Cargill’s replica kitchen to make sure eggs — which Cargill supplies — were properly cooked alongside McDonald’s lunch and dinner fare, among other factors, according to Cargill.

As big food companies and restaurant chains like McDonald’s strive to keep up with shifting consumer demands, Cargill, which supplies those companies with food ingredients, meat and other products, is trying to become nimbler itself.
