The Nebraska football team opened its fall camp Thursday afternoon. The Huskers practiced inside the Hawks Championship Center in helmets and jerseys for just over two hours.
As coach Mike Riley begins preparing for his second season at the helm, he noted after practice that the players’ comfort level with his system was much better than a year ago.
Thursday’s practice marked the return of junior wide receiver and punt returner De’Mornay Pierson-El. It was his first action since suffering a knee injury last October, which limited him to 12 receptions and four punt returns in five games as a sophomore.
