Connie Yori has resigned after 14 seasons as the head coach of the Nebraska women’s basketball team. The Lincoln Journal Star reports that Yori’s resignation Tuesday follows a two-month investigation by the Nebraska athletic department into allegations the coach mistreated players.
In a statement released by the school Tuesday, Yori said only that she had reached her decision following “a difficult time in my life” and thanked athletic director Shawn Eichorst for his support and leadership.
Eichorst thanked Yori and said the search for her replacement would begin immediately.
Yori helped the Huskers to some of their most successful seasons ever, finishing with a 280-166 record over 14 years.
