One celebration held each year in honor of our Ag Producers is the Rural Recognition Banquet, which is March 15th. The Banquet will be held at Ag Park, Columbus. It is sponsored by the Agri-Business Committee of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. The social time starts at 6:00 p.m., with the dinner scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Congratulations to the Rural Recognition Award winners chosen by the Chamber Agri-business Committee 2016 award-winners are: Heartland Builders will be the Agri-business Pioneer Award; Lloyd Lutjens, Outstanding Senior Farmer; Willow Holoubek Outstanding Woman in Agriculture; and Scott Hellbusch, Outstanding Farmer.
Brad Christensen, Chair of the Chamber’s Agri-business Committee, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Thanks goes to the local businesses that help sponsor the event for the Ag Committee. Their financial support is really appreciated.
The Platte County 4-H Council also presents awards during the program. 4-H Leader Years of Service, Friends of 4-H, and the 4-H Meritorious adult winners are recognized as well as the Diamond Clover Awards which will be presented to deserving 4-H members.
The Annual Rural Recognition Banquet is a special event, a true celebration of Agriculture in our area. I hope you will make plans to attend.
